Ultimate Amateur Series Starts This Weekend!

Feb 17 2014

The Ultimate Amateur Series presented by MXATV.com is drawing near and the sponsors are coming through big time! We are very excited for our first round Feb 23rd at Perris Raceway. We have finalized our staff for the signups and scoring and we are pleased to say you will see lots of familiar faces from the TWMXS races. We are also using MyLaps Transponders and we will be selling the Flex Program Transponders which can save you on rentals for a whole year!

At stop #1 we are trying out a dual track format. This means that racing will conclude sooner and riders who are not confident on the Main Track will have a chance to enjoy racing on the Vet Track. We have also added a couple classes. We now have a 125cc 2 Stroke Open Non Pro, Vet Pro (30+), 250cc True Beginner and 450cc Beginner which will race on the Vet Track. By popular demand the 250cc and 450cc Beginner Class will race on the Main. All other beginner classes, True Beginner and Peewee 4-6 will race on the Vet Track.

This race is for everyone! The serious racers, weekend warriors who never race, and riders looking to for great competition so they can move up a class. Some good questions we received lately:
Does a racer require some type of membership? If so, is an AMA membership accepted in lieu of required membership? There is no membership required.

Is there a set of published rules? If not, are you using the AMA or NMA rule book? We are using a hybrid of both rules and are working on having a full list of rules published by round one.

What is the age cutoff date for the classes that are aged based? A rider must race the class that coincides with his age at the date of the first round.

There is no class distinction between stock and mod. Does that mean that it's a "run what you brung" type of race? Or are all bikes supposed to be stock? We do not have a stock/mod distinction. All bikes must maintain their CC requirements to be legal. If a rider is racing with the wrong CC all points will be surrendered and that racer will no longer be eligible for any prizes.

When a rider drops down an age class are they allowed to drop down a skill level? For example: A 50+ vet int also sign up for the 40+ vet class as a novice. You must race your skill level no matter the age. If you are a 45+ Int and would like to race additional classes you must be in an open or an intermediate class.

Are riders who race in a beginner class allowed to race in other classes? For example: 85 beginner and schoolboy. Schoolboy requires a larger CC than 85cc so you would have to ride at least a Supermini bike to be in the Schoolboy class.

Can 250 2 strokes race in the 250 4 stroke class as per the AMA rule book for amateur racing? Yes 250cc 2 strokes can race in the 250cc 4 stroke class.

What are the prize winners eligibility rules? **Eligibility will be determined by the giveaway at each round.

Is the Sprinter van prize a lease for a certain term, which are bound by the laws governing such a transaction? The van prize is ownership and title. We are even paying the sales tax and registration for one year so if you win it's all yours!
